All workouts at LSUS unless otherwise alerted. This is a great option for those who want to get a workout in before the workday or cannot be sure to make it in the evenings. The time is designed to allow parents to get home to get the kiddos off to school and be to work by approximately 8:00 am. It is also a great opportunity to see a starry sky and a beautiful sunrise...

We swim year round and have been known to swim on national holidays, depending on the interest of members and availability of the pool.

Training Aids

Swimming is an activity that requires skills in a non-compressible and weight-supporting medium. It is one of the "purest" activities that one can do. We do not require any equipment to be used aside from a socially acceptable bathing costume (adult swimming, yes, but this is a family show). There are some aids that can help you in your fitness journey that we use in our workouts. We do have some equipment that we can let swimmers use during workouts to try out before purchasing what works for them.

We recommend the following training aids to help in our workouts:


Kickboard and Pull Bouy
(you can use ones at the pool or get your own)

Hand Paddles
(ones that can be configured to only band around your middle finger)

Short Fins
(zoomers, NeoFins, "Ed Nessel" fins, etc.)

Front Mounted Snorkel
(nose plug as needed)

This equipment can be purchased at athletic suppliers such as SportSpectrum and Kiefer. We periodically put in orders for the NeoFins from Laguna Fin and the "Ed Nessel" Caribe fins from Oceanic.access For equipment at SportSpectrum, inquire about the Red River Masters discount relationship.
